Reading Time: 5 minutes

I’ve talked a little about my sustainable swaps and an area I’ve not yet delved deep into is sustainable fashion. I’ve also talked previously about giving gifts thoughtfully so as not to produce throwaway waste or risk the regift.

Whether you’re picking something for Christmas, birthday, or just because, these gifts are fabulous for the sustainably-minded person in your life.

This post contains gifted items.

Jewellery

Starting classy here with jewellery. Not only is it the gift that will last your recipient will feel very special when being gifted jewellery.

Daisy

Daisy is a British brand that has a beautiful range of everyday jewellery. They have a huge sustainability commitment and ensure every piece in their collection is produced with 100% recycled silver and 18ct gold plate, whilst reducing their carbon footprint and committing to higher welfare standards than ever before.

For Daisy, sustainability is high on their agenda.

I have a set of beautiful stacking rings from Daisy and honestly, they are beautiful and I do wear them every day (I would recommend double-checking sizing as they do appear to come up smaller than I’m used to). Pictured are the Daisy Bloom crown ring, a Healing Amethyst ring and the Estee Lalonde chunky curb chain ring all 18ct gold plated silver.

With a selection of rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings there is no shortage of gift ideas at Daisy.

illi

illi is an environmentally and socially responsible fine jewellery brand. Their jewellery is made from 100% recycled precious metals and lab-grown diamonds and gemstones. They work exclusively with manufacturers and suppliers who were able to guarantee that the precious metals would contain 100% recycled content and their lab-grown diamonds and gemstones would be conflict-free.

In the slightly higher price bracket, the beautiful range of jewellery from illi is absolutely stunning and perfect for if you’re wanting to give that extra special treat to your loved one.

Sweaters and Tee’s

We all know I love a sweater, and lockdown appeared to bring sweaters and tee’s to the very height of fashion, with everyone choosing them for their comfort and style.

There’s also no shortage of options for businesses that choose to be sustainable.

Childstar Samantha

Childstar Samantha plants a tree for every item sold.

I’m absolutely in love with Sam’s range of Bowie Cat Christmas Sweaters, made from ECO 80% organic ringspun combed cotton and 20% recycled polyester. WRAP Certified production. Also available as a t-shirt!

This is highly likely to make its way into my Christmas jumper collection!

The packaging used by Sam is also 100% plastic-free.

Sam also does a range of other items outside of clothing such as mugs, coasters or tea towels, which might make ideal stocking fillers or Secret Santa gifts.

Rubbish London

Rubbish London has a range of 100% recycled cotton sweaters which they say are the most sustainable fabric on earth and are the only brand in the UK that does them.

I also adore their range of “Recycle My” sweatshirts, showing you care about the planet without shouting about it. Wear it!

Handbags

Now a handbag will never get too small or too big if you lose/gain weight. It’s useful, it stands the test of time and makes a bloody great gift!

Sustainable Bags and Fashion

Sustainable Bags and Fashion does exactly as it says on the tin. Julie cleverly uses offcuts of leather that would usually be discarded by bigger companies and handcrafts them into beautiful, unique handbags, purses or washbags. I’m particularly taken by her crossbody bags. The laptop bags? OMG love them!

And her range of bags are so reasonably priced.

Sustainable Bags and Fashion make handbags out of recycled leather pieces usually discarded by bigger companies.
Each bag is handmade from recycled leather and is truly unique and one of a kind!

The fact they are one of a kind really speaks to me as I love things that are as unique as I am.

PrimaBerry

PrimaBerry is another company that has sustainability at its core. From the sustainable packaging they use, digital invoicing to the labels on their products. The products they sell are made from a range of sustainable materials from bamboo, banana fibre, cotton to cork.

Cork is 100% biodegradable and its high quality make cork one of the most sustainable materials available today. It also makes for very unique backpacks!

The Britain backpack is a homage to Britain and is super cute!

Cork is a 100% natural raw material removed every 9 years from the cork oaks that make up the vast but delicate ecosystem of the Alentejo Montado, in Southern Portugal.

Jackets

Until I started researching for this post I wasn’t sure that a sustainable waterproof jacket that was nice could be a thing. Things have progressed so much in sustainable fashion it’s unreal!

Rapanui

Rapanui products are made from organic cotton and printed in the UK in a renewable energy powered factory and are packaged in recycled packaging.

The smock jacket is a stylish, waterproof, organic cotton jacket available in a range of colours. It’s an absolute bloody bargain at £75 and is perfect for the changing seasons.

Nightwear

Who doesn’t love receiving a new pair of jimjam’s? I know I do!

We Drifters

We Drifters specialises in bamboo unisex clothing, infused with anti-insect treatment to keep 90% of bugs away. Inspired by travel and wellbeing, their sleepwear is designed for comfort and peace of mind with £2 from every sale going toward helping end malaria.

WeDrifters bamboo PJs infused with insect repellent are perfect for weekend retreats and getaways!

These PJs are also great for those who love to camp, glamp or are up for #vanlife. Now, they currently only come in one colourway, but there are plans for more next year.

Sustainable gifts

It’s so much easier these days to choose and shop more sustainably and shop fast fashion less. With so many more companies offering recycled products or items made using sustainable methods there is plenty of choice when it comes to choosing sustainable fashion.

Do you have any recommendations for sustainable fashion brands?

Peace out!
