The spot where I set up my lamp doesn’t have a plug socket, I initially thought I’d have to get the extension cable out, but this lamp has a great length cable which meant there was no need to have ugly trailing extension cords everywhere.
The great thing about this lamp, compared to other lamps, is that the high definition LED light is beamed where you want it to be rather than filling the room with a more general light. In my darkened living room, this is amazing, even on brighter days. My reading chair is located in a dark corner with no natural light, and the Serious Readers lamp provides a great amount of light without being too bright or with over glare.
The dimmer wheel on the lamp means I can easily adjust the brightness of the light I need, perfect for adding a bit more brightness on gloomy days, or toning it down when it’s super sunny (we don’t see many of those days now do we!) Using the additional feature of adjustable beam width for even more flexibility on the level and definition of the light.
What I have been really surprised about, is how long I can have this light on and it not get in the slightest bit hot! On those Sundays where I spend almost an entire day reading, the light itself won’t get hot to the touch. And I’ve not been suffering from eye strain!
